I poke my head out of my burrow...

And find that Mr. Mean Spirited has turned his implicit racism into explicit racism, and that Anne Sterzinger and Sister Y are palling around with wife-beating enthusiast Matt Forney.

I conclude that antinatalists have officially stopped caring about suffering of any kind and just become a weird morbid splinter sect of Stormfront and retreat to my burrow of not checking in on weird internet people.

There will be six more weeks of fall.

Best you stay in your burrow and not come out.

    1. No? I feel bad for his family and friends, and I think that what he had to go through in the months leading up to his suicide was horrible.

I don't believe I even talked about Derived Energy on this blog, so I don't know why you think I would be happy about his death.

  3. Antinatalism and racism necessarily connected? That's like saying social (as in cultural) issues are connected with economic issues. You'd do better to say that Capitalism is connected to Naziism. At least both had one thing in common - encouraging competition. Antinatalism does not make a claim about race and most certainly my own antinatalism does not. The only necessary (i.e. most parsimonious) component of AN is the view that humanity should cease procreation in order to bring suffering (at least human suffering) to an end. Anything beyond that is outside the scope of AN. Your suggestion that AN is ultimately racist or any other -ist is a very spurious correlation at best and outright propaganda at worst.

    1. "are doing" is not the same as "necessarily are"

    2. Fine, as long as you think capitalism is completely evil and/or discredited because some capitalists exploit their workers. That is the same logic you use to link AN to racism. You know just as well as I do that lots of not-so-unsavory things in and of themselves have been hastily and reflexively linked to unsavory other things, this despite any lack of substantive connection between the two.

You're not being thoughtful, you're just being the very demagogic propagandist you claim AN's are. How Pathetic!

    3. So are you talking to me, or is there an invisible commenter pretending to be me you are responding too?

    4. I mean, there is some serious gerrymandering going on here because I've posted a bunch of stuff about antinatalism and the problems with it, and people just kind of ignore that in favor of my identification of racism in the movement, and then demand proof of racism. And then I provide it and they start talking about how it doesn't debunk antinatalism and I am a horrible person for giving them the evidence they asked for.

I mean, racism and misogyny are kind of a problem with the antinatalist movement and you guys seem dedicated to deal with it by pretending it doesn't exist.

Mind you, it's not an essential part of antinatalism. It would be unsurprising to find racism in a nationalist movement, but more surprising to find it in a vegan movement. That's why it's a problem and not just part of the package.
